Reverend Doug Stelzig
Rev. Doug Stelzig is currently serving as TPC's Interim Pastor, through our partnership with Flourish Coaching—a ministry dedicated to strengthening local churches by equipping leaders and guiding congregations through pastoral transitions.
He is an ordained Teaching Elder in the PCA and has been a teaching elder since 1991. He served as a missionary in Romania (1993-1994) and with Mission to the World in South Africa (1998-2007) where he was involved in pastoral training. In his transitional role, he helps the Session provide consistent preaching, shepherding, and leadership during this season of discernment and preparation for Trinity's next pastor.
Doug earned a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Houston before getting his MDiv and a ThM in New Testament from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is committed to the faithful exposition of God’s Word, confessional integrity, and the spiritual health of Christ’s Church. Through Flourish, he focuses on helping churches remain biblically grounded while navigating seasons of change and grief with wisdom.
He and his wife of 35 years, Cindy, have their homebase in North Carolina. They have one son, Kurt, now deceased. When time permits, he enjoys playing his guitars.
A passage that shapes his philosophy of ministry is: We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our very lives as well, because you had become so dear to us .-- 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV).
