The children’s ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church (TPC) aims to glorify God by providing a safe and secure environment for our children to receive care and instruction on Sunday mornings and during fellowship events. We believe that parents are primarily responsible for instructing their children in the ways of the Lord, and we delight in walking alongside them in this endeavor.
While we do provide a number of Children's Ministry activities, parents are by no means required to utilize them. We value children (including infants) participating in the worship service through exposure to corporate worship with their families. We also recognize the value of having a dedicated space for our younger children to learn and play in a more child-oriented environment. Our goal is to help parents train their children to become active participants in our worship practices and adult members of a gospel-preaching church. We exist to help and support parents – whether through specific programs or simply prayers and encouragement.

We offer a number of activities for children every Sunday morning.
Sunday School (9 am – 10 am):
- Sunday School Nursery [link to nursery page]: We offer a nursery space for children ages 0-3.
- 4s-1st Sunday School [link to 4s-1st page]: We offer a Sunday School class for children ages 4–1st grade. Children move into this class after their 4th birthday. Children may move into this class early, on a case-by-case basis, if parents feel their child has outgrown the nursery and their behavior and social skills allow them to participate and follow directions accordingly.
- 2nd-5th Sunday School [link to 2nd-5th page]: We offer a Sunday School class for children in 2nd–5th grade. Children move into this class on Promotion Sunday* when they start/are in 2nd grade.
*Promotion Sunday is the second Sunday in September.
Worship Service (10:30 am – 12:15 pm):
- Worship Service Nursery [link to nursery page]: We offer a nursery space for children ages 0-2 during the worship service. Once children turn 3, we ask parents to keep their children with them during the worship service or use YWIT when available.
- Worship Service Cry Area: We offer an area for parents and children who need to step out of the worship service. This area is located in the hallway outside the auditorium and is not staffed by volunteers. Parents are welcome to spend time with their children in this area, as needed. This area includes a soft mat, a box of toys and books, and a rocking chair.
- YWIT [link to YWIT page]: Young Worshipper in Training (YWIT) is an age-appropriate program to help children understand elements of our worship service. It is offered on the first and third Sundays of each month during a portion of the worship service. Parents may escort their children to the YWIT classroom after the children’s sermon and children will be returned to them after the sermon. YWIT is available for children ages 3-5. Once children turn 6, we ask that parents keep their children with them for the entirety of the worship service.
To encourage our children to hide God’s Word in their heart and learn the tenets of our Reformed faith, we maintain a Memory Prize System [link to Memory Prize System page] that rewards children who can recite verses and catechism answers at church on a weekly basis
Children’s ministry also sponsors seasonal events, such as a Summer Wet ‘n Wild Day, a Christmas party, a Halloween Party, and an Easter Egg Hunt. Children, parents, families, and friends are always welcome at these fun occasions. Please check the calendar for the next event!
